Three awards in three months for Daresay

Daresay Team - October 29, 2018

The competition winnings keep adding up! In only three months time, the Smart Plug and Clas Ohlson Home have won three distinguished honours from two different design juries in both Sweden and Germany.

Three months ago, we won two Red Dot Awards. The Red Dot is a prestigious prize awarded to top players in international design, and we feel honoured to have been recognised for our work with Clas Ohlson for the Clas Ohlson Home app and the new Smart Plug, a product that allows users to remotely control wall outlets using their smartphones.

This Thursday, we earned another award in the Swedish equivalent of the Red Dot Award – Svenska Designpriset (the Swedish Design Prize)! We won in the Smartphone category, which means that in only three months time, Smart Plug and Clas Ohlson Home have won three distinguished honours from two different design juries in both Sweden and Germany.

Not only have we been acknowledged by the authorities, but the product has high customer ratings and excellent reviews in the Clas Ohlson web shop.

“We’re extremely proud and grateful for this award. It’s hard to imagine a greater start for our product. It definitely sends an extra boost of energy and motivation our way to further develop Clas Ohlson Home in the future, with improved features and new smart products to connect to the app.”

A push forward

We’ve already completed several exciting design projects within the IoT and connected homes field, such as for IKEA. But no previous project has received as much attention as this one.

“This is really fantastic for both us and Clas Ohlson. The product line was launched as late as February, but it’s already been extremely successful with customers and has now received incredible recognition from both international and Swedish design experts”, says Kurt Sillén, business director at Daresay.

The jury for Svenska Designpriset consisted of nine Swedish design experts who nominated contributions for each category. The winners were then chosen through an open vote on designpriset.se in September, and victors received their awards at a gala ceremony in Stockholm on Thursday.

We were also nominated in the E-commerce category for our collaboration with popular coffee subscription service Kaffefamiljen.
